Newplace Classic is essentially a social and non-competitive family occasion when, on Fathers' Day, car owners and spectators alike may enjoy a relaxed time chatting with friends, picnicking or tucking into a delicious Ploughman’s lunch in the wonderful parkland setting of Newplace. Visitors are encouraged to stroll through the immaculate grounds of Newplace and take tea on the terrace overlooking the lakes. There are fun and games for children and adults throughout the afternoon..

Last year the event attracted upwards of 120 Veteran, Vintage, Classic and Exotic entries. Typical of the range of marques seen in 2008 were Aston Martin, Austin Healey, Bentley, Bristol, Buick, Cadillac, Crossley, Ferrari, Invicta, Jaguar, Jowett, Lotus, M.G., Panhard et Levassor, Rolls Royce, Sunbeam, SS Jaguar, Talbot and Triumph.
